New Field Applied Research (FAR) Australia, a national, independent, not for profit research, development and extension provider, has appointed Rohan Wardle as its chief executive.

He succeeds long-serving managing director Nick Poole, who has led the organisation since 2012.

Rohan joins FAR Australia with more than seven years of senior leadership experience at DLF/PGG Wrightson Seeds, where he has held roles including national sales and marketing manager and, most recently, national production, procurement and planning manager.

His career reflects a blend of commercial acumen, industry engagement and strategic leadership which aligns strongly with FAR Australia’s future direction.

FAR chair Andrew Rice says the board is delighted to welcome Rohan to the organisation.

“Rohan’s career aligns with research and commercial leadership, giving him the capability, insight and strengths the board sees as key to the next phase of our growth and success.”

Outgoing managing director Nick Poole says he couldn’t think of a more suitable successor to lead FAR Australia into its next chapter.

“Rohan brings the energy and industry understanding needed to continue building on the foundations we’ve established,” Nick adds.

Rohan started his new role February 2.
