Sophie Haigh– armed with a Bachelor of Agricultural Sciences from the University of Adelaide and a strong background across horticultural and broadacre agronomy – has joined the Yara Australia team.
She brings a great mix of technical knowledge and hands-on experience to the role, including writing and delivering course materials for diplomas in agriculture, agribusiness and chemical accreditations at an RTO.
With several years of working across the Riverland and outer South Australia, Sophie has supported a wide range of cropping systems, with particular exposure to tree crops, broadacre and livestock enterprises.
More recently, she’s been getting her hands dirty on farm, from almond harvest in the Riverland to working alongside her partner on their broadacre and sheep property.
Based in Jamestown in the Mid North of SA, Sophie lives with her partner and their border collie, Ellie.
“I’m really excited to be joining Yara and working with a team focused on supporting growers with practical, science-based solutions,” Sophie says.
“The opportunity to combine my agronomy background with on-farm experience and be part of a business that’s genuinely committed to sustainable agriculture really resonates with me.”
