AGnVET Services is very pleased to announce that Kellys have agreed to merge the Kellys Dunkeld and Penshurst retail outlets in Victoria with AGnVET Management Services effective 1 October 2022.

After much consideration Brendan Kelly decided that a merger with AGnVET was the right fit and the best way forward for Kellys to further expand.

The Kelly family has been involved in providing service to the rural industry in Victoria’s Western District for four generations. Brendan Kelly has been running Kellys for 34 years and over that time the business has undergone a number of changes.

The Penshurst flagship store was established in August 1988, providing expert advice, products and rural services to the greater Penshurst region. Since then, branches have been opened in nearby Dunkeld and in Wodonga in Victoria’s north-east.

The business currently offers agronomy services, fertiliser, insurance, rural merchandise, real estate and are Stihl dealers as well as members of the Mitre 10 group.

Mr Kelly said this merger is the next progression and will provide the merged business will new opportunities for growth, innovation and to expand the existing services to customers.

“It will ensure continuity of service and advice to our customers and ongoing support of our local community for many years to come.”

As a result of the merger, Mr Kelly will take an equity position in the combined business and become part of the AGnVET management leadership team. The day-to-day operations and friendly team in both Dunkeld and Penshurst will remain the same.

AGnVET Group managing director Mark Giffin said the AGnVET Services Group was established in Forbes, NSW in 1915 and today remains a privately owned Australian independent agribusiness providing rural supplies and specialist services across Eastern Australia.

With over 70 branches and 80 specialist advisors in agronomy and animal production, AGnVET is strategically located throughout Queensland, New South Wales, Victoria and Tasmania – through various local businesses including AGnVET Services, IK Caldwell, The Wheelhouse Group, Polycon Engineering, AGnVET Rural and the group’s specialist water and irrigation business Darling Irrigation.

Mr Kelly said this is an exciting time for the new business, and the newly merged company looked forward to continuing its valued client relationships and sharing new opportunities as they arise.

In the meantime, it will be business as usual.
