Muirs and Corteva Agriscience marked National Agriculture Day with community BBQs across regional Australia.

Gatherings were hosted at Muirs branches nationally and on selected growers’ farms, acknowledging the people who power Australian agriculture and creating space for mates and communities to connect.

Muirs is a long-standing, family-owned agricultural retailer and service partner to growers nationwide.

Corteva is a global agriculture company focused on crop protection, plant performance and seed innovation.

Together, they are backing ‘Mates & Mo-ments’, a simple idea built around shared meals, practical gratitude and the conversations which strengthen communities.

Alongside celebrating Australian farming, each BBQ spotlights Movember, the annual month-long fundraising campaign promoting men’s mental and physical health, and why its mission matters in rural farming communities.

Men in farming face unique pressures, from seasonal volatility to social isolation, and research shows that the potential impact of these demands can have devastating consequences.

Normalising check-ins, encouraging help-seeking and making time to talk can make a real difference.

Whether it’s a neighbourly chat over the fence, a friendly cuppa, a call from the cab or sharing a snag at the end of a hard week, these moments matter.

Throughout November, teams at Muirs and Corteva supported Movember by growing some mos, hosting BBQ mo-ments and taking on movement challenges.

It’s all in support of men’s mental health and suicide prevention, as well as prostate and testicular cancer research and support.

There is no hard sell or formal program for our BBQ mo-ments.

Just good food, a few subtle prompts and the chance to look out for one another.

As the sector comes together on National Agriculture Day, Mates & Mo-ments is a reminder strong yields start with strong people, and the best conversations often happen around the grill.
