The Australian Seed Federation recently appointed Prudence Baker to the newly created role of public affairs officer in their Canberra office.

ASF CEO Katherine Delbridge said we’re delighted to have Prue Baker join the ASF team and we are excited about what we can achieve for our members with her on board.

Ms Baker is a recent graduate of the University of Canberra, with a Bachelor of Business (Marketing).

“I am originally from the small town of Forbes, NSW, where I grew up on a farm that produced sheep and crops. Three years ago, I moved to Canberra for university and have really enjoyed living in our country city so I’ll be staying here for a while.

“Outside of work, I regularly compete in showjumping with my horse Pedro, which keeps me quite busy,” Ms Baker said.

She said joining ASF gave her an opportunity to get back to her agricultural roots, as well as trying something new and learning more about this industry.

“I’m looking forward to connecting with ASF members and learning about the work that they do, as well as getting the messages and initiatives of ASF out to more people.

“Something that I’d love to achieve is helping the ASF Women in Seed network to succeed as this is an area that I’m very interested in – as well as getting more young people interested in seed.”
