Growers and customers will be familiar with brands such as Kwickin, Companion Surfactant, Envirodye and Spreadwet – all trusted, household names found in many sheds and rural stores.
Similarly, West Australian farmers will easily recognize brands such as Enhance, SE14, Biopest, Plantocrop and Wetta 1000.
For the past few years the combined range of crop protection and turf products from the former SST Australia and SACOA were sold under the banner of DKSH Agrisolutions – but this has recently changed.
Effective mid-July 2025, the combined portfolio of premium soil and tank mix adjuvants will be available from the rebranded Agrion Crop Solutions.
Agrion general manager Peter Quill says Agrion Crop Solutions is more than just a re-brand.
“Our new name, appearance, colors, logo and website signal a directional change for the company, which is supported by the trusted brands on which it is built – enhanced by the strong backing of the Swiss corporation DKSH,” Peter says.
The name Agrion derives from ancient Greek, meaning wild or living in open spaces.
In biology, Agrion was historically a genus of damselflies – delicate, vibrant and colorful creatures.
Inspired by this, Agrion Crop Solutions adopts the agility, focus and precision displayed by the vibrant damselfly to deliver a focused range of products for modern farming.
A common characteristic of damselflies (and their close relatives dragonflies) is their inseparable association with water.
“This also applies to Agrion Crop Solutions where we acknowledge the increasingly important role of water in agricultural and recreational turf systems,” Peter explains.
“Take SE14 Soil Moisture Retainer for example … which has become an indispensable input for retention of soil moisture in hard-to-wet soils or marginal cropping areas,” he says.
“Another example of Agrion Crop Solutions’ focus on improving the utility of water is our industry-leading range of tank-mix adjuvants.
“Almost every liquid pesticide product uses water as a carrier. It is our job and area of expertise to provide a bespoke range of adjuvants for every spray situation or application type.”
To be able to respond to rapidly changing demand patterns, Agrion’s Australian manufacturing facility at Dandenong South in Victoria, and a network of satellite toll-manufacturing sites, are strategically positioned to supply broadacre, horticultural and turf customers in all states, Mike Cobden, regional manager eastern and turf products, says.
“In the next few months, growers and customers will start receiving products with our new-look Agrion Crop Solutions labels and streamlined packaging,” Mike adds.
